Sea Kayaking Trips

Sea Kayaking Trips

Jim says, "The Jewel in Ireland's Crown must surely be the South West Coast or West Cork to be more exact. The many islands, sea caves, and sheltered bays make this coast an ideal area for sea kayaking. Come with us at Atlantic Sea Kayaking and allow us to safely introduce you to the marine life and magic of this area."

Introduction to Sea Kayaking
This is a gentle and friendly 2 hour introductory sea trip, designed to give beginners a chance to try sea kayaking. This trip is especially suitable for those people who are nervous of the water. It also suits younger paddlers because it is short. During our trip, we explore the bays, inlets and sea caves around this delightful area.

Half Day Sea Kayaking Expedition
This is probably Atlantic Sea Kayaking's most popular trip. This 3 hour/half day trip allows us the time to relax and safely enjoy the coast from sea level as we silently glide along. We explore bays and inlets, before venturing out into the open sea.
The Half Day Sea Kayaking is suitable for either beginner or intermediate.

Full Day Sea Kayaking Expedition
The Full Day Sea Kayaking expedition is ideal for kayakers with time on their hands. One will explore inlets, islands and sea caves. Lunch is taken during this trip on one of the many islands, where one can watch the seals and different sea birds. This trip is ideal for everyone from the beginner to the advanced kayaker.

Moonlight/Starlight Paddle
This is one of the most popular trips. Beginning at dusk, we paddle right into the darkness, whether there is a full moon or a star filled sky overhead. Each has its own special magic. Combine this with the phosphorescence lighting up the ocean and you are guaranteed a truly remarkable experience. This is a two hour trip, suitable for beginners or advanced kayakers.

Full Day Expedition with Overnight Camping
The full day expedition with overnight camping is very popular with families, corporate entertainment groups, students and people wanting to get away from it all. After a few hours kayaking, we will land on an uninhabited island, set up camp and cook dinner. After an enjoyable meal, there is time to explore the sea by kayak at night and learn the secrets of the ocean during the dark hours. Then, following the campfire back to base, it is time for bed. The next morning, after an early outdoor breakfast, we will break camp and take to the water again for another adventurous day of sea kayaking. We will explore the sea caves and the life that accompanies the sea.
