Adare Manor

One of Ireland's finest hotels and one of the leading hotels of the world, Adare Manor is a majestic five star hotel & golf resort, set around an 18th Century manor house in the village of Adare in County Limerick.

Situated on the banks of the River Maigue within an estate of 840 acres, Adare Manor was the ancestral home of the earls of Dunraven for over 250 years, set in the heart of the pretty village of Adare. The Manor is an architectural masterpiece of mock gothic turrets and towers and elaborate stonework. While inside original features of ornate woodcarvings, stunning staircases, and huge gothic archways grace the reception of Adare and throughout the hotel. One of the most renowned parts of the manor is the Minstrels Gallery, inspired by the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles and lined with 17th Century Flemish Choir Stalls, worth a look even if you aren't banqueting there.

Each of Adare Manor's wonderful selection of rooms are carefully crafted to the very highest standards, blending old world charm with modern facilities, comfort with luxury. These well appointed rooms are elegantly furnished, providing the finest of amenities, in which to relax and feel pampered. Adare also offers self-catering accommodation in their fabulous Townhouses, furnished to the same exemplary standards.

Adare Manor offers a range of dining experiences, from the graceful fine dining of the Oakroom Restaurant, elegantly set with crystal chandeliers and oak panelling, and featuring the finest in European haute cuisine, complimented by an impressive wine list. While less formal dining is available in the bistro styled Carriage House Restaurant. The Tack Room, in one of the oldest parts of the hotel, regularly hosts evening entertainment, from traditional music to storytelling, hugely atmospheric, and an excellent way to end the evening.

A dizzying array of exemplary facilities are on offer at the Adare Hotel, including the famous 18 hole championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones. A full range of equestrian facilities is available nearby at the Clonshire Equestrian Centre with free complimentary transfers to and from the resort and angling for brown trout can be had on the River Maigue. For those seeking more relaxing times, Adare Manor has a Spa offering a full range of relaxation and beauty treatments to be pampered with.

Less than an hours drive from Shannon Airport, Adare Manor is well placed for seeing the sights in and around Ireland's western counties of Limerick, Clare, Kerry, Cork, and Galway.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. This was our first stay in a castle and the place was gorgeous! The staff were so accomodating and really went above and beyond in customer service. I close my eyes and can still see the ivy creeping up the manor house.

Their registration area needs to improve their customer service.

Top class accommodations and appreciated being in such a marvelous environment the day before leaving. The town of ADARE was also very quaint and pleasant to walk aroud.

We were upgraded to a lovely suite. We dined in the carriage house rather than the formal dining room but the service and food were both wonderful .

My husband particularly liked Adare Manor for the golf. He had the game of a lifetime and loves sharing the experience with our friends and family. My daughter and I loved walking the grounds and enjoying the beauty all around. John the doorman was just a sweetheart! We loved our room, and we loved the tour. They should be very proud of their staff. They are warm and friendly. All in all, #1 on our list.

Leanne Ryner on Wed Jul 18 2007

This was my top rated hotel although some of the family preferred Dromoland. The reception was exceptional and all was excellent. I must return for a few days with Ruth so that I can play some golf. The pro shop personnel were also exceptional. The only hitch from me was our dinner....the food was excellent....but the service could have been better. perhaps they had too much for their newly??? trained wait staff. They forgot to check our table for wine list then wine order then pouring etc. I didn't know just where to ding them...hospitality or food and bev, so I picked bev. The breakfast was exceptional and the seervice here was also very good to excellent. Value for money is simply for all that was dear in Ireland compared with our other trips around the world....I know...London is worse!!!

We love Adare Manor and plan to stay there again when we return to Ireland. This was our second stay and we were not disappointed at all. It was just as I remembered it.

Donna Jones on Fri Jun 8 2007

Adare Manor was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of our visit. We could have spent a month at Adare Manor and never tired of finding something new to explore. Seamus and Margaret Anne and John the Doorman were the most accommodating, gracious hosts.

Angela Schardan on Thu May 17 2007

Huge property with very large rooms, but a little bit imposing and severe. Great golf course.

Alice Moio on Wed Dec 13 2006

beautiful manor hotel and golf resort, very luxurious, friendly and relaxing.

Elaine Fitzpatrick on Wed Dec 13 2006

A truly beautiful experience! The staff was exceptional and the service impecable. Our only complaint was the coffee - for dinner and breakfast it was much too weak. Other than that it was extraordinary.

Raymond Ryan on Fri Sep 29 2006

A beautiful, old-fashioned manor with a wonderful view at the garden.

Amela Cardaklija on Wed Feb 22 2006

Adare village is very picturesque and lovely to stroll around. Close to Limerick city and easy to drive to Co Clare or Kerry. Adare Manor is a very impressive old world building which definately gives you the feeling of going back in time. Public area quite opulent rooms more standard. Lots of activities on site, golfing, horseriding, archery etc

Joan O'Connell on Tue Nov 29 2005

large estate. the exterior suits the interior of the public areas. warm, old furniture creates a dated feeling. every room is decorated completely different but do vary in size. leisure facilities good. standards rooms are spacious. people carriers on site which tends to be a great help. tends to be more of a tourist city with many golfers attending. equestian centre, clay shooting. late bar.

Jenna Burton on Tue Nov 29 2005

Beautiful place, that can cater for both individulas and families in their self catering, great grounds with an top class golf course and excellent out door facilities, with a indoor leisure centre that is strictly for the guest.
